…delegates expects maximum impact on wellbeing of Nigerian child

The National Children’s Leadership Conference (NCLC) is underway in Abuja to discuss the wellbeing and activities centred around the wholistic development of the Nigerian child.
The Conference which is organised by the Children of Africa Leadership and Values Development Initiative (CALDEV) is drawing 500 participants from all over Nigeria who are aged between 12-17years.
At the arrival on Friday, 17th November, 2023, our correspondent observed that the delegates were in high spirit and are looking forwards towards having a conference that generate goodwill for the Nigerian child.
Rep. Bamidele Salam, the Founder/President of CALDEV, had earlier disclosed to newsmen that all necessary plans have been perfected to make the event worthwhile and memorable.
He said the conference will be convened under the Theme: ‘Rebuilding Nigeria through Investment in Children’s Education, Welfare and Security’, and will have in attendance over 500 children from the 36 states of the federation and the FCT.
“The National Children Leadership Conference 2023, organizd by CALDEV in partnership or support with several organisations provides a national convergence platform to give Nigerian Children the opportunity to express their God-given talents and innovative skills, contribute their aspirations to Nigeria’s democratic governance and policies as well as learn ethical values on national unity, national loyalty, leadership and a sense of belonging in government affairs.
“The Conference is a program put together to provide a platform for children between the ages of 12 and 17 from across different parts of the country to converge on the Federal Capital Territory for the purpose of leadership, training, mentoring, knowledge sharing capacity building, competitions, networking and collaboration.
“Consequently, this Conference is designed as a deliberate policy by CALDEV and its partners to celebrate the Universal Children’s Day; a day set aside by the United Nations to celebrate our children and also discuss issues that bothers on their welfare,” he said.
The conference features Leadership Training and Mentoring, Children’s Parliamentary Session, Group Discussion on National and Global Issues, Educational Sponsorship Opportunities, Exhibition, Children’s Financial and Entrepreneurship Literacy, Talent Shows, Quiz, several plenary sessions on topical issues as well as lots of amazing prizes for winners of different competitions.
He further stated that this will no doubt be a great avenue for the children to interact and network with their peers Nationwide. Additionally, It’s a gathering for Policy Makers, Legislators, Diplomatic Community and all stakeholders to meet and discuss children affairs.
Participants who shared their expectations with News Headquarters expressed willingness to tap from the opportunity provided by the unique platform which they said has the tendency to change the circumstances of their existence for the better.
