Alia declares open tour of ongoing projects in Benue state

The Governor of Benue State, Rev Fr Dr Hyacinth Iormem Alia Saturday, November 25, 2023 declared open, the tour of ongoing government projects in the state.

Organized by Conference of Benue Journalists (CBJ), the tour was aimed at equipping journalists who are Benue indigenes practicing outside the state with requisite knowledge about the projects and would also enable them see the various stages at which work was ongoing.

Addressing the team at New Banquet Hall, Government House, Makurdi, Governor Alia expressed excitement to welcome them home to witness what the Government has started doing.

He appreciated their various roles as a group and personal efforts that led to his victory, adding that the CBJ made modest contributions towards the actualization of a better Benue that works not only for the people of the state but for the over all development of the country.

Governor Alia charged them to remain good ambassadors of the state and also use their good offices to counter fake news and propaganda from some.medium who are trying to sabotage his administration with negative reports.

He called on members of the state executive council to take Advantage of the presence of the group to project the activities of their various ministries.

Also speaking , the Benue State Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Hon. Matthew Aboh Said Governor Hyacinth Alia is not relenting on his promise to take the state to higher heights

The president, Conference of Benue Journalists, Dr. Emmanuel Anule commended Governor Hyacinth Alia for all that he has done for the state so far, and encouraged him to do more.

He appealed to the Governor to sustain his prompt and timely payment of salaries to Benue civil servants and also intensify efforts in addressing security challenges in the state.

The.association decorated Governor Alia as the grand patron of Conference of Benue Journalists.

Members of CBJ were taken round some projects within Makurdi metropolis by the commissioner for information culture and Tourism Hon. Matthew Aboh and his counterpart from works and housing Hon.Isaac Tiza Imojime.
