The Acting Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has underscored the need for the citizens to embrace unity as they chart a course for renewed and accelerated progress.
Aiyedatiwa conveyed this message on Thursday morning in a statewide address upon assuming the role of acting governor.
This responsibility was handed over to him due to the medical leave taken by his principal and the subsequent endorsement of this transition by the state assembly.
In his address, the acting governor encouraged the people of the state to persist in their prayers for the swift recovery and restored strength of their leader, Rotimi Akeredolu.
Furthermore, he urged the populace to swiftly return to a trajectory of rapid progress that had eluded the state in recent months.
Aiyedatiwa emphasized the need to discard unnecessary distractions, emphasizing the importance of unity in purpose and shared interests.
He emphasized the collective responsibility to stand together until the end, fostering a stronger and more determined resolve to advance the welfare and security of the people.
“We must come back stronger and more determined to advance the welfare and security of our people, being the primary object of government as encapsulated in the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as amended. He maintained.
The Deputy Governor had earlier faced a series of knocks, particularly from the state’s House of Assembly, which had served him an impeachment notice.
But Aiyedatiwa had already apologized to Governor Akeredolu which reduced the political tension among the parties in the state.
