President Bola Tinubu has approved the suspension, removal, and replacement of some Chief Executive Officers under the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development:
The affected are Managing Director, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, Mr. Kabir Yusuf Mohammed, replaced with Mrs. Olubunmi Oluwaseun Kuku, Managing Director, Nigerian Airspace Management Agency, NAMA, Mr. Tayib Adetunji Odunowo, replaced with Mallam Umar Ahmed Farouk. Director-General, Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau, NSIB, Mr. Akinola Olateru, replaced with Mr. Alex Badeh Junior.
The rest are Director-General, Nigerian Meteorological Agency, NIMET, Professor Mansur Bako Matazu replaced with Professor Charles Anosike, Rector of the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology, NCAT, Captain Alkali Mahmud Modibbo, replaced with Mr. Joseph Shaka Imalighwe, and Director-General of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Captain Musa Shuaibu Nuhu, suspended from office to enable the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to conduct an unfettered investigation into the activities executed by him and his and other senior officials in the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority.
As a result, Captain Chris Najomo assumes office as the Acting Director-General of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority immediately.
President Tinubu has also approved the commencement of a diligent process to be conducted by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development to recruit a substantive Vice-Chancellor and other principal officers of the African Aviation and Aerospace University, AAAU.
In a statement, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, says the President anticipates that the new leadership across this sectors will uphold the safety, convenience, and comfort of Nigerians.
It says the directives of the President take immediate effect.
