Kefas places total ban on commercial motorcycles in Jalingo

Taraba state Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas has placed a complete ban on the use of motorcycles within Jalingo metropolis.

This was announced in a press statement by the office of the secretary to the state government and made available to journalists in Jalingo.

The use of tricycles will also be restricted as they are to operate between 6.00Am – 8.00PM, all in a bid to tackle the spate of criminal activities in the capital city.

The statement also revealed that a taskforce committee constituted by the Government is saddled with the responsibility of ensuring that defaulters are arrested and tried by the mobile court.

The committee includes, Taraba State Commissioner of Police, Joseph Eribo as chairman, Secretary, Home Affairs and Special Services Department, is to serve as secretary and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Taraba Marshal, and the Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) Taraba are to serve as members.
