A peep into the Ganvie village

Ganvie is a special village in Benin, West Africa, often called the “Venice of Africa.”

People built their homes on stilts in the water because it was a safe place from slave traders long ago.

The village is on Lake Nokoué, and everyone gets around using small boats. They have a floating market where people trade things.
