Born in 1930, Baba Simon Mashika Agu is the oldest living Pastor in Benue State and Nigeria who can still stand erect and preach for hours without the aid of eyeglasses to enhance his vision.
He is from Adi town, an Etulo by tribe from Buruku Local Government Area of Benue State. Baba celebrated 93 years on the 20th of May, 2023, last year. By God’s grace the man of God will still be recording 94 years at the same time this year still healthy and active in vineyard of the Lord and on the master’s business.
Scant information about Baba is known, but often, he is seen given stage to Minister in the Remnant Christian Network Church (RCN), a Ministry of Apostle Arome Osayi in Makurdi Benue State. On several occasions, he is as well, seen ministering in the company of one of the Benue revivalist and resident pastor of Remnant Christian Network Calabar branch, Pastor Shaala Ukaa in his numerous Crusades all over Nigeria.
The living legend do conduct open air crusade across many towns and cities in Benue State and beyond. Being a treasure of knowledge coupled with anointing, he has been an invited guest speaker in many Christian programmes across different churches in Nigeria.
Baba has been a constant participator of the annual Christian revival conference called (Cotgom) meaning, Conference of Tiv Gospel Ministers. Where the Ministers of God of Tiv extraction and Non Tiv ministers working in Tiv land, come together to pray, intercede for the land and Rob mind together to prepare themselves for effective ministry.
Normally, aged men of his calibre has given up on life and have resigned to fate suffering from one ailment to another, associated with their age, but Baba is always active burning for God and his Kingdom. Making impact in the life of the youth transferring ancient Christian wisdom morals into the new generation. The life of this kingdom General is worthy of emulation by all.
Indeed, it pays to serve Jesus and be a true Soldier and die at the post. There’s nothing to lost in giving all to God and the course of his kingdom. It’s a generational seed that posterity after posterity will harvest unending.
