The Commissioner, FCT Police Command, Bennett Igweh on Wednesday, said the correctional officer who shot and killed one of the handcuffed convicted offenders in Wuse Market on Tuesday has been arrested for interrogations.
The Commissioner stated this on Wednesday, after a closed door meeting with the Senators over the level of security in Abuja.
While speaking with journalists, the commissioner cleared the air that a police officer shot the victim, saying the calmness and sanity has been restored to the market.
Igweh noted that the force under his leadership and support of the Inspector General of police Adeolu Egbetokun and FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, will continue to comb the FCT border forest of the FCT of Niger, Kaduna, Nasarawa, and Kogi State.
He maintained that he will continue to work for the security of the residents.
