Senator George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, says the federal government is expecting much from the new Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).
While decorating the new Corps Marshal, the SGF said the position was a sensitive one, required to reduce carnage on Nigerian roads.
He urged the new Corps Marshal to use his wealth of experience to bring sanity to the roads.
According to the SGF, the FRSC was created to make life more meaningful and to make the road safer for all.
“We wish you the best on this new assignment because the assignment is sensitive and very important,” Senator Akume told the Corps Marshal.
He, however, commended the FRSC for various initiatives aimed at reducing road traffic crashes and fatalities.
Top government officials, senior management staff of FRSC, and friends, as well as family of the new corps marshal, witnessed the decoration.
Until his appointment, Shehu Mohammed was the Zonal Commanding Officer (ZCO) in charge of FCT and Niger State.
