Egbedore LG Chairman celebrates Father’s Day, Sallah

…preaches unity, peace and love
In a jubilant display of unity and community spirit, the Chairman of Egbedore Local Government, along with the Christian members of his cabinet, embarked on a tour across the local government area, to celebrate the Father’s Day.
This festive event, coinciding with the global celebration of Father’s Day and the Islamic festival of Eid Al Adha (Ileya Festival), began in Iragberi and continued through several key locations, spreading joy, love, and mutual respect.
The day’s festivities kicked off at the First Baptist Church in Iragberi, where the Chairman honored Rev. Babatunde Akinbami, a colleague and one of the awardees in this year’s Father’s Day celebration. Following the uplifting church service, the Chairman and his entourage extended their festive greetings to the Muslim community, visiting several prominent party members in Iragberi.
The notable figures visited included:
Mrs. Yusuf Aminat, Secretary of the LGEA Board, Egbedore Local Government;
Hon. Alhaji Mufutao AbdulKareem, former PDP Councilor, Egbedore Ward 6;
Hon. Asimiyu Akintayo, Leader in Iragberi Ward 2;
Hon. Ganiyu Dele Atoyebi, Current Councilor, Iragberi Ward 6;
Accompanying the Chairman were the diligent Comrade Isiaka Rasaki A. (P.k.a Karamo), Youth Leader of Egbedore Ward 6, among others.
After departing from Iragberi, the Chairman visited Alhaji Jogunade Olanipekun, a highly respected leader in Awo, who expressed heartfelt gratitude and offered prayers for the Chairman and his cabinet. The joyous visit continued with a courtesy call to the Alawo of Awo, HRM Oba Abdul Razaq Taiwo Ajibade Adegboye Abioye, who also prayed for the Chairman and his entourage.
The celebration tour then moved to Ojo Aro Ward, where the Chairman visited notable leaders such as Alhaji Olakunle Ojo in Aro, the Permanent Secretary Special Duties, Alh. Mudasiru Oyedeji, also the Chairman paid a visit to Hon. Hassan, an LGEA Board member in Ojo.
The tour culminated in the Chairman’s hometown, where he firstly visited Prince Yusuf Akeem in the Celebration of his New House Warming Celebration and lastly the Chairman celebrated the Ileya Festival with HRM Oba Dr. Olubayo Adesola Windapo (Oyelade Abidogun 1), the Alara of Ara. The Alara of Ara expressed profound appreciation for the Chairman’s visit and offered prayers for his successful tenure.
Throughout the celebratory visits, the Chairman presented gifts as a gesture of unity, emphasizing that despite religious differences, the community stands as one. He used this festive opportunity to preach love and unity, urging everyone to use the season to pray for the country.
In his joyous message, the Chairman stated, “Let us all come together during this festive period, irrespective of our religious backgrounds, to promote love, unity, and peace. Let us pray for our country and work together towards a brighter future.”
The vibrant celebration was a testament to the Chairman’s commitment to fostering harmony and solidarity within the Egbedore Local Government, setting a commendable example of leadership and community service.
