Representative Bamidele Salam, Chairman of the House of Representatives Public Accounts Committee on Wednesday distributed 600 bags of fertilizers received from the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security to farmers in his constituency.
As announced earlier on his social media platform, Rep. Salam stated:
“We just received six hundred bags of fertilisers from the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food security for delivery to farmers in our Federal Constituency. Our Constituency office will handle the distribution through farmers’ associations and interest groups in Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore, and Ejigbo Local Governments in the next couple of days. If you are a registered farmers group in our Constituency, you can contact our office opposite the Seventh day Grammar School, Ede for necessary documentation.”
The distribution, which took place at the Awo town, was carried out through farmers’ associations and interest groups in Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore, and Ejigbo Local Governments.
Beneficiary groups included the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), FBS Farmers Association, Nigerian Cassava Growers Association, Pineapple Farmers Association, National Association of Yam Farmers and Marketers of Nigeria, and several others.
Additionally, individual members of the Hausa, Benue, Urhobo, and Fulani communities also received fertilizers.
Farmers who received the fertilizers expressed their gratitude to Rep. Salam and the Federal Government. “The fertilizers will help us increase our yield and improve our livelihoods.
We are grateful to Rep. Salam for bringing this support to our doorstep. It shows he cares about our well-being and is committed to our progress.”
Rep. Salam reiterated his commitment to supporting farmers in his constituency, saying, “Agriculture is the backbone of our economy, and we must support our farmers to ensure food security and economic growth.”
