The Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris yesterday sworn-in the newly elected 21 Local Government Chairmen, Vice Chairmen and Councilors.
The ceremony took place at the Presidential Lodge in Birnin Kebbi, following the local government elections held on August 31, 2024.
Idris urged the new officials to be transparent and maintain an open-door policy while performing their duties.
He emphasized the importance of collaboration among the chairmen, vice chairmen, and councilors to effectively manage their respective councils and improve community welfare.
In his address, Governor Idris celebrated the success of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the elections, noting that the party won all the local government areas.
He commended the peaceful and fair conduct of the elections.
The Chief Judge of Kebbi State, Justice Umar Abubakar, administered the oath of office.
On his part, Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Yakubu Bala-Tafida, praised Governor Idris for his dedication to public service and acknowledged the efforts of APC Chairman Alhaji Abubakar Kana-Zuru and other key stakeholders.
The governor presented the newly sworn-in chairmen with brand new Hilux vehicles to support their official duties.
