As Nigeria celebrates its 64th Independence Day, Representative Bamidele Salam has reflected on the nation’s remarkable journey, highlighting its resilience and determination.
Since gaining independence in 1960, Nigeria has faced numerous challenges, but its people have consistently demonstrated unwavering hope and resolve.
Rep. Salam emphasized that Nigeria’s story is one of courage and perseverance.
“From the struggles of our founding fathers to the present day, we have continued to push forward, united in our diversity,” he notes.
“The nation’s ability to overcome adversity is a testament to its strength and the boundless potential of its citizens
“Nigeria’s path to independence was paved with sacrifices and struggles. The nation’s forebears fought tirelessly for freedom, and their legacy continues to inspire generations.
“Today, Nigerians remain committed to building a better future, driven by the same spirit of resilience that defined the nation’s early years.”
Rep. Salam cited local peacebuilders who have dedicated themselves to healing and reconciliation in communities torn apart by violence.”
“Their selfless efforts demonstrate the power of community-driven initiatives in promoting peace and unity,” he explained.
As Nigeria celebrates this milestone, Rep. Salam urged citizens to recommit to the nation’s founding principles.
