The Ministry of Interior has taken a significant step towards enhancing service delivery, efficiency, and productivity with the launch of the Performance Management System (PMS) Day. The Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, led the launch, which aligns with the directive of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation requiring all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies to dedicate Thursdays to promoting PMS, according to a press release from the Director Press and Public Relations Federal Ministry of Interior, Ozoya Imohimi on Friday.
According to Dr. Ajani, the PMS Day marks a significant milestone in the Ministry’s efforts to improve its operations. “This is a vital tool in our efforts to deliver on the Renewed Hope Agenda of the current Administration,” she emphasized, adding: “It is a covenant of accountability and a promise to join forces with Mr. President to deliver his aspirations to Nigerians.”
The event was marked by the signing ceremony of the Directors’ Performance Contract, underscoring the Ministry’s commitment to driving its mandate through the PMS. As part of the promotion of the day, staff members are expected to wear PMS-branded T-shirts and face caps every Thursday to demonstrate their commitment to the PMS.
Dr. Ajani reiterated the Ministry’s dedication to delivering on its mandate and contributing to the nation’s economic development. With the launch of the PMS Day, the Ministry of Interior joins other Ministries in embracing the Performance Management System, aimed at improving service delivery and promoting accountability in the civil service.
