Senator Isah Jibrin Echocho has commissioned the newly renovated and upgraded Bassa VIP Guest House in Dekina Local Government Area, bringing joy and excitement to the Bassa community. The historic guest house, originally built during the era of old Benue State, had been neglected for decades, but Senator Echocho’s commitment to community development and historical preservation has given it a new lease on life.
The comprehensive rehabilitation project, spearheaded by Senator Echocho, included the complete reconstruction of the facility and the installation of luxurious state-of-the-art furnishings. The once-abandoned building now stands as a symbol of progress and inclusivity, reflecting the senator’s vision of fostering development across all parts of Kogi East.
The commissioning event was attended by dignitaries, traditional rulers, and excited residents from across the region. HRH Pst. Joshua W. Uye, representing the Aguma of Bassa, praised Senator Echocho’s efforts, describing them as patriotic and far-reaching. The Bassa Local Government Chairman, Theophilus Adama, also expressed gratitude to Senator Echocho for fulfilling his promises.
To ensure the long-term sustainability of the guest house, it will be concessioned to a private operator. As Chairman Adama noted, “We will ensure this facility serves the needs of our people while generating revenue and remaining in pristine condition for years to come.”
