The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, has declared that the projects executed in the area councils are a fulfillment of the promises made by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to FCT residents.
In a press statement from Anthony Ogunleye on Tuesday, the Director of Press, Office of the Minister, Wike made this statement on Monday, during the commissioning of the Naharati Rivers Ukya Access road with two span river bridges in Abaji Area Council.
The Minister expressed his gratitude to the President for giving him and the Minister of State, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, the opportunity to contribute to the development of the FCT. He assured that all promises made by the President for residents will be fulfilled.
Wike emphasized that the construction of the Naharati Rivers Ukya road was a desire of the people of Abaji, which was passed on to the FCT Administration by the Council Chairman, Hon. Abubakar Umar Abdullahi. He noted that this desire, along with those of the other area councils, was passed on to the President, resulting in the execution of several road projects in the six Area Councils.
The Minister also highlighted other promises made to the residents of Abaji, including the provision of two more police divisions to beef up security in the area. He assured that these promises will be fulfilled, with the police divisions expected to be completed within the next few months.
In addition to the projects in Abaji, Wike noted that the FCT Administration will be commissioning several other projects in the area councils throughout the week. He stressed that no part of the FCT will be left untouched, as the administration plans to ensure an even spread of infrastructural development.
The Chairman of Abaji Area Council, Hon. Abubakar Umar Abdullahi, thanked the FCT Minister for the project, describing it as “a promise made and fulfilled.” The Minister of State, FCT, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, also expressed her gratitude to the President for the opportunity to oversee the development of the FCT.
This development is part of the FCT Administration’s efforts to upgrade infrastructure in the territory, which is in line with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
