According to her, road tragedies are more than anything else so all hands must be on deck to tackle the menace.

“If all of us commit to this, the situation will change,” she beckoned.

She said due to population growth and urbanization, road crisis has become a very big issue.

“We are midway to the end of the Decade of Action on Road Safety, yet we record many terrible incidents on our roads. This should not be,” Honourable Justice Dongban-Mensem who is as well the President of the Court Appeal expressed.

Lamented that there is a huge difference between promises made and the realities on the road, Justice Dongban-Mensem called for involvement of the youth because they are the driving force in advocacy and action that can propel the road safety campaign.

Commitment to actions that can save lives on the road was the key point at the conference.

The Ministerial Conference on Road Safety, which takes place in four years seeks to extract commitment from governments across the world in the fight against road crashes.
