Udende condemns senseless killings in Katsina-Ala, others

Benue North-East Senator Barr. Emmanuel Memga Udende, has strongly condemned what he describes as senseless killings by suspected armed herdsmen at Mbagena community in Kpav, Michihe council ward in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area, and called on security operatives as well as governments all levels to quickly ensure protection of lives and properties as enshrined in the 1999 constitution as amended.

The Federal lawmaker expressed deep concerns over the continued unprovoked attacks on his people, with the latest in Kwande, Ukum, and Katsina-Ala Local Government Areas of the State.

Expressing his commitment to driving positive change in the senatorial zone, he pointed out that his efforts will only achieve the desired goals if there is security, peace and stability in his Senatorial District.

The Chairman, Senate Committee on Anti-Corruption and Financial Crimes described the attacks as barbaric and called for immediate action by relevant authorities to prevent similar situations and ensure a more secure future for all.

He stood in solidarity with families of those who lost their loved ones in the attacks and prayed for God’s comfort and speedy recovery for the injured.

Senator Udende emphasized the need to revisit and implement the Anti-Open Grazing Law, a crucial step towards finding a lasting solution to the menace and creating a more harmonious society. He added that, on his part as a Legislator he had moved several motions in the past on the insecurity in Benue North-East and will continue to speak so long as the killings continues.
