Implement incentives for employers to hire more workers, Industrialist Egwuekwe urges FG

Evg. Prince Emeka Egwuekwe, the MD, Prince Interior and Furnishing Company Limited, Abuja has urg d the Federal Government (FG) to implement incentives for employers to hire more workers.

This was contained in his 2925 Workers Day message which he sent across through journalists in his office in Abuja.

While urging the FG to protect local industries, he urged: those in authority to halt imports of goods that can be manufactured locally; them to patronize local products, by procuring locally made goods for public offices them to support manufacturers, by enacting friendly legislations to boost manufacturing.

He also urged them to reduce commercial bank interest rates; streamline banking; remove bottlenecks and make Bank of Industry (BoI) accessible.

He added that by empowering the private sector, by implementing these measures, the government, according to him can empower the private sector to drive economic growth, create jobs, and improve workers’ welfare.

Calling on the FG to prioritize policies that boost employment and economic growth, he said: “We look forward to collaborative efforts that promote economic development and benefit Nigerian workers.”
