By Ekuson Nw’Ogbunka, Abuja

Nigeria’s tourism sector, the Nigerian Tourism Development Authority (NTDA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Letsgo Continent Limited, (the creators of the LetsgoNigeriaApp) to enhance Nigeria’s digital tourism.

The signing ceremony, which took place at the NTDA headquarters on Tuesday, marked a major milestone in the Authority’s strategic efforts to leverage technology to promote Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage, attractions, and destinations to the world.

Giving a background on the collaboration, the Director of Special Duties, NTDA, Odinaka Anumba highlighted that LetsgoNigeriaApp is a comprehensive tourism platform designed to showcase Nigeria’s people, places, history, culture, tourist sites, hotels, restaurants, flora, and fauna. “The App was well received by the previous administration, and the current administration has sustained the collaboration because of its vast potential in marketing Nigeria’s tourism assets globally,” he noted.

In his remarks, the MD/CEO of LetsgoNigeriaApp, Mr. Kolade Ayorinde, stated that the App is a digital gateway to Nigeria’s tourism narrative. “We know what we have in Nigeria—our untapped tourism potentials—and it is time we started telling our own story. The app features all 36 states, providing tourists with vital information on tourist sites, accommodation, dining, and more. While some data gaps exist, our partnership with NTDA is aimed at bridging those gaps.”

Speaking in his address, the Director Overseeing the Office of the Director General, Mr. Richard Esewhaye emphasized that the MoU signing aligns with NTDA’s commitment to repositioning tourism through digital innovation. “This partnership is part of our broader vision to establish Nigeria’s digital footprint in the global tourism landscape. We are also upgrading our official website to boost our local and international visibility, and the LetsgoNigeriaApp complements this goal.”

The ceremony concluded with the formal signing of the MoU, coordinated by the Director of Legal Services, Mrs. Funebi Otu-Umondak, ably represented by the Deputy Director, Legal Services, Mrs. Olufunke Soleye.

This partnership signals a new chapter in Nigeria’s tourism promotion, setting the stage for a more connected, data-driven, and globally visible industry.
