Scorecard update: Hon. Idu Emeka (Ochilimma ga achi ozo) earns public endorsement for outstanding representation in Onitsha North and South federal constituency

In a resounding show of appreciation and public endorsement, a prominent civic group based in Onitsha known for transparency and good governance advocacy. Otu Ikporo Onitsha(Mgbedeme)
has officially commended Hon. Idu Emeka (Ochilimma ga achi ozo), the Honourable Member representing Onitsha North and South Federal Constituency in the 10th National Assembly, Abuja, for his sterling performance over the past two years.

According to the group, Hon. Idu Emeka has distinguished himself as one of the best-performing legislators since the return of democracy in Nigeria, bringing pride to the constituency through impactful legislation, community-focused initiatives, and unwavering accessibility to his constituents.

Achievements of Hon. Engr Idu Emeka So Far Include:

I. A Bill to Amend the Nigerian Defence Academy Act of 2004, seeking to strengthen the operations and inclusivity of the NDA.

II. A Bill for an Act to Establish the National Metallurgical Training Institute, Onitsha, aimed at creating technical employment pathways for our youth.

III. The Nigerian Ports Authority Act (Amendment) Bill 2025, which seeks to legally establish the Onitsha River Port as a functional and strategic trade hub.

IV. A Bill to Establish the Federal University of Entrepreneurship Studies, Onitsha, focused on raising the next generation of job creators and innovators.

Beyond these, Hon. Idu Emeka has demonstrated unmatched compassion and dedication to health and humanitarian services. During a five-day medical outreach held within his constituency—leveraging the full capacity of departments at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Onitsha—he assured residents that any person residing in the constituency facing a serious medical condition, regardless of their origin, should inform him directly. In his words, “I will do my part to support them and leave the rest to God.”

This act of inclusiveness and compassion was not only commendable but also reflective of a genuine servant-leader spirit.

Call for Continuity in 2027

The group, led by its chairperson Mrs Victoria Achebe, has publicly declared that there is “no vacancy” for any political office Hon. Idu Emeka chooses to contest in the 2027 general elections. They strongly advocate for his continuity in the National Assembly or any higher office he may aspire to, citing his unmatched record of delivery, accessibility, and leadership.

> “We have not seen this level of commitment and results from any other representative in recent times. Hon. Idu Emeka is not just representing us—he is empowering us. For 2027, he has our full backing,” Mrs Victoria Achebe the chairman said.

The group calls on all stakeholders, political actors, and constituents to rally behind this call for continuity, urging wider support and national recognition of Hon. Idu Emeka’s transformative service.
