Well-wishers storm Hon. Denis  Iyaghigba’s residence in celebration of  confirmation as Commissioner

It was a joyous atmosphere at the Government House, Makurdi, on Wednesday as family members, friends, his classmates from Saint Andrew Old Boys Association (SAOBA) set 1991, political associates, and supporters thronged the residence of Honourable Denis Ter Iyaghigba to congratulate him on his confirmation as a Commissioner in the Benue State Executive Council.

A press statement by the Iyaghigba Media Team signed by its Coordinator, Mr. Lubem Gena indicates that, among the dignitaries in attendance were *Dr. Engr Sam Iyaghigba, Mr. Uba Icheen, Hon. Richard Imoter Nomkpo, Mr. Vincent Upev, Mr. Andrew Upev, Prophet Isaiah Gbem, Sir Teddy Terna Kandeor ( KSJI), Mr. Kenneth Shima Udele Hon. Mark Shie (former SA to the Governor), Hon. Teryima Iorkyaan, Hon. Atetan Mvedaga (former Caretaker Chairman Ushongo L.G), Mr Tegh-tegh Mbauhar , Mr Fanen Ter Jever, Mr Francis Maande, Mr Ephraim Makar, Hon. Samuel Akaayar, Inspector Thaddeus Torseer Iyaghigba, Mr Adamu Ephraim Terlumun, Mr. Daniel Wanger as well as councillors from his home local government area, Ushongo.

Speaking on behalf of the visitors, several members of the delegation expressed deep appreciation to Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia for finding one of their own worthy of such a critical role in the state’s leadership. They pledged their individual and collective support to Hon. Iyaghigba, assuring him of their readiness to work closely with him to ensure success in his new assignment.

In his response, Hon. Denis Ter Iyaghigba thanked everyone for the show of love and solidarity. He described his appointment as a “call to service” and promised to justify the confidence reposed in him by Governor Alia and the people of Benue State.

“I will deploy my wealth of knowledge, experience, contacts, and managerial competence to contribute positively to the fortunes of our dear state,” he assured, adding that his priority would be to work collaboratively with other members of the Executive Council to deliver Governor Alia’s development agenda.

The gathering ended in an atmosphere of celebration, unity, and renewed commitment to the progress of Benue State.
