The Concerned Progressives of Arochukwu and Ohafia (CPAO), a prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) support group in Abia State, has declared Hon. Ifeanyi Elvis Ogbonna, popularly known as Ignis, the most formidable candidate for the 2027 House of Representatives election in Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency.

In a statement signed by its General Secretary, Engr. Ifeanyi Iheaka, CPAO warned that denying Ogbonna the APC ticket would spell doom for the party in the constituency.

The group praised Ogbonna’s rare capacity, popularity, and vision, positioning him as the best candidate to alter the political and developmental trajectory of the constituency.

“Anybody telling you to bring another candidate apart from Ignis will spell doom for our party. The APC has never won Arochukwu/Ohafia, but 2027 presents a golden opportunity. From our findings, the only name on the lips of the people is Ifeanyi Ogbonna. He is the consensus choice, and his candidacy is beyond party lines,” he said

CPAO emphasized that Ogbonna’s wide acceptance across Arochukwu and Ohafia makes him unbeatable, describing him as a bridge-builder with strong ties to stakeholders across political divides.

“Ogbonna has the political clout to win under any party, but his candidacy under the APC will bring good fortunes not only for our party in Arochukwu/Ohafia but also for the entire Abia North Senatorial District,” Iheaka added.

The group highlighted Ogbonna’s deep understanding of the developmental challenges facing the federal constituency, citing his consistent efforts to address issues such as youth unemployment, infrastructure decay, insecurity, and lack of opportunities. CPAO also disclosed that support structures have already been established across all wards in Ohafia and Arochukwu to ensure massive grassroots mobilization ahead of the APC primaries.

“We have gone beyond rhetoric. We are on the ground. Our structures are alive in every ward, every village, and every polling unit,” Iheaka revealed, adding: “This is not just about winning an election; it is about igniting hope and changing the political narrative of our people.”

CPAO urged APC stakeholders to close ranks and rally behind Ogbonna, pointing out that his strong relationships with key leaders, including Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu, and Minister of State for Labour Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, will be critical for the party’s victory in 2027.

The group’s endorsement underscores Ogbonna’s growing popularity and potential to galvanize support for the APC in the constituency.

As the party prepares for the 2027 elections, CPAO’s declaration is likely to influence the party’s decision-making process.
