I extend heartfelt congratulations to all Honourable Commissioners inaugurated today, 1/9/2025, by HE, Revd. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, at the Government House, Makurdi.
Special appreciation goes to the Governor for carefully and thoughtfully selecting the best among the many qualified individuals across the state. Of particular note are Hon. Denis Terzungwe Iyaghigba, a seasoned maritime expert and philanthropist, and Professor Yangien Timothy Ornguga, an accomplished University Don and Legal Scholar. Both men hail from Kwande Intermediary Area (comprising Kwande and Ushongo LGAs), a land widely recognised as the source and fountain of knowledge, and historically regarded as the origin and home of the Tiv ethnic nationality.
Your Excellency, the inclusion of these two distinguished sons of Kwande, reflects a deep appreciation for experience, excellence, and ancestral contribution to the growth of the Tiv nation and Benue State at large.
As this new cabinet takes shape, I pray that God will grant every Commissioner divine wisdom, the spirit of service, and humility to bring progressive ideas to the table and implement them effectively. May they resist the spirit of pride, arrogance, and overzealousness, traits alleged to have weakened the credibility of some appointees in the past and even presently.
May this administration, through these appointments, deliver lasting value to the people of Benue, and may peace, unity, and development flow like a river across our land.
Congratulations once again to all the Honourable Commissioners. Benue is watching, and posterity will judge.
