The visits, aimed at strengthening community relations and consolidating support for Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia’s administration, began at the residence of elder statesman Pharmacist Ahenjir Patrick Nyitse, a respected figure whose influence spans over seven decades.
Hon. Iyaghigba formally informed the elder statesman of his appointment to the Benue State Executive Council, pledging to operate an open-door policy and draw inspiration from visionary leaders like the late Second Republic Governor Aper Aku, renowned for his selfless service to the state.
In the visionary journey led by Hon. Cyrus Terhemen Atii, the Commissioner also reaffirmed his unwavering loyalty to Governor Alia’s developmental agenda, calling on all well meaning indigenes of the state to join hands with the governor by remaining supportive of him.
In his response, Pharmacist Nyitse welcomed the Commissioner’s outreach and promised to make his knowledge, experience, and network available to support his success.
He advised Hon. Iyaghigba to prioritize grassroots development, foster unity of purpose among Ushongo people, and maintain integrity in handling political views to strengthen peace and cooperation.
Hon. Iyaghigba also visited a prominent politician in the area, Hon. Mkumaga Jomboh, who commended Governor Alia for recognizing Ushongo by appointing one of its sons into a strategic position.
Hon. Jomboh ledged to mobilize goodwill and provide constructive counsel whenever needed.
