The Asugeri of Idu, the host community of Idu Industrial Area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), His Royal Highness (HRH) Mohammad Bawa Makama has called for peaceful electioneering campaign come 2027 area council campaign in the territory.
The Royal Father gave the advice when the Concerned APC Members embers of Idu declared their support for the executive chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) in the FCT on Sunday.
Commending the organizers of the event for effectiveness, he called on all the residents and indigenes in the community to continue to remain peaceful and united, which he said has been been the magic behind peace in the community.
He also advised the area council chairman to continue to carry all along, saying that politics and leadership are for the people, not people for politics and leadership.
While commending him for effective leadership, he advised him to improve upon all he has done.
Earlier in a statement titled: Declaration of Support for Honourable Christopher Zakka (Mai Kalangu) and Clarification on Political Leadership in Idu Community from the APC members of the Idu community, they said: “We, the concerned APC members and stakeholders of Idu Community, Jiwa Ward, wish to express our profound appreciation for the outstanding leadership of Hon. Zaka Mai Kalangu, Executive Chairman of AMAC.
His administration has brought visible development, fairness, and inclusiveness to all communities within the Area Council except Idu Koro Community.
“While we acknowledge and commend the many developmental strides under your administration, we respectfully observe that despite the numerous appointments you have graciously extended to men and women across other communities during your first tenure, Idu Community has not benefited from any such appointment.”
They continued: “We therefore appeal to you, Sir, that if you are entrusted with a second term in office, kindly consider Idu Community in your next round of appointments. Such inclusion will further strengthen our unity, enhance political participation, and deepen our collective trust and loyalty to your administration and our great party.
“In the interest of transparency and accountability, we the APC members and stakeholders of Idu Community, respectfully request that any official communication, mobilization, or engagement meant for Idu Community should be directed through Hon. Hajiya Talatu, AKA Sai Mama; Comrade Tanko Wambai; and Alhaji Muhammed Salisu Galadima of Idu (A.K.A. Kaliyas), and other respected community stakeholders.”
In conclusion, they said: “We reaffirm our total loyalty and unwavering support for Hon. Zaka Mai Kalangu, whose people-oriented leadership continues to foster unity, progress, and hope across AMAC.”
