Hon. Toochi Michael Ugoh, the Action Peoples Party (APP) candidate vying for a seat in the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has urged politicians and voters alike to “involve God both in your campaign and politics, for God to direct you.” Speaking to journalists in Abuja recently, Ugo emphasized that successful governance begins with divine guidance and a commitment to lawful, transparent conduct.
Ugoh stressed that his political philosophy hinges on “politics going into campaign and politics, adhering to the law strictly.” He urged citizens to “learn to go into politics without antagonism,” warning that hostility only undermines development.
“Politics should go in with sincerity, devoid of fraud,” he added, calling on competitors to embrace clean competition.
The APP candidate welcomed all contestants to the AMAC race but reminded them to “study AMAC and know the problems in the area council.” Having served previously in the council, Ugo asserted, “I know what is lacking in AMAC, and if voted in, I shall give AMAC and its indigenes and residents what they have been lacking.”
He highlighted specific gaps in service delivery, infrastructure, and community engagement that he intends to address.
Ugoh called on residents to “vote APP into AMAC and see a difference positively,” expressing confidence that his party’s agenda aligns with the needs of the electorate.
“My prayer is that God intervenes and brings out the right and required leadership in AMAC,” he concluded, reiterating his reliance on spiritual guidance for the campaign.
The APP hopeful outlined a vision of “sincere politics” that prioritizes honesty, equity, and the rule of law, positioning himself as a candidate who understands the intricacies of local governance.
He pledged to tackle issues such as waste management, road maintenance, security, and youth empowerment—areas he identified as critical to AMAC’s progress.
Ugoh’s message resonated with several attendees at the press briefing, who applauded his call for peaceful, issue‑based campaigning.
“It’s refreshing to hear a candidate focus on solutions rather than mudslinging,” remarked a local market woman, echoing sentiments of many AMAC residents seeking substantive leadership.
The upcoming AMAC election is expected to draw significant attention as various parties present their visions for the council’s future.
With Hon Tochi Clement Ugoh positioning APP as a beacon of integrity, the stage is set for a contest that could redefine political discourse in the Federal Capital Territory.
