At long last, Hon. Joshua Chinedu Obika, the Member of the House of Representatives for AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency, FCT Abuja, has finally and left the Labour Party (LP) and returned to the All Progressives Congress (APC), according to an announcement made by Amb. Emenike Egbusunwa, the legislator’s Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, in a press release on Saturday.

According to the release, the lawmaker’s decision to leave the LP is part of his effort to further his commitment to effective representation and national development. He has joined the APC, citing the need for continued contribution to the country’s progress.

To effectively forge ahead, , Hon. Obika launched a new grassroots movement, “Grassroot Movement for Good Governance (GMGG)”. The initiative aims to promote transparency, accountability, and good governance, benefiting his constituents and the nation.

The GMGG movement is expected to deepen engagement with communities at the grassroots level, supporting policies and programs that enhance effective representation and improve living conditions for residents in AMAC, Bwari, and the wider FCT.

Hon. Obika’s defection marks a significant political development within Abuja’s political landscape, particularly in AMAC and Bwari Area Councils, where political realignments continue to shape grassroots mobilization and party structures.

The party however welcomed Obika, and advised him to contribute to the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
