Eze Onyebuchi Chukwu, the APGA candidate for AMAC Chairmanship, has congratulated Hon. Christopher Zakka (Mekalangu) on his victory in the February 21, 2026, election. Chukwu praised the people of Abuja Municipal Area Council for exercising their democratic right in a peaceful and orderly manner, calling it a victory for democracy and AMAC.
Chukwu attributed the successful election process to God’s intervention, saying he gives all glory to God for granting a safe campaign season and election day without any loss of life or injury.
He urged Mekalangu to be magnanimous in victory, govern with humility, and embrace inclusiveness in leadership.
The APGA candidate emphasized that AMAC belongs to all, regardless of political, tribal, or religious differences, and hoped the Mekalangu’s administration would reflect fairness, unity, and commitment to the common good.
He thanked his team, supporters, and everyone who stood with him throughout the campaign, praising their courage, principle, and integrity.
Chukwu noted that elections are contests of ideas and structure, but character is measured by how one conducts oneself before, during, and after the process.
He expressed pride in his team’s conduct, saying they showed that politics can be done with honour and conviction is stronger than compromise.
The statement concluded with a call to action, urging Nigerians to participate in democracy, speak up, contest, vote, and contribute to nation-building. Chukwu affirmed his commitment to youth empowerment, good governance, and community development, saying the journey does not end with the election.
Chukwu’s concession speech has been seen as a display of maturity and a focus on the greater good, demonstrating that politics can be done with honour and integrity.
