The Grassroots Mandate Group Initiative (GMGI), a prominent political support organization under the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), has officially endorsed the second-term bid of Hon. Joshua Chinedu Obika, the Member representing the AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
This is contained in a press release signed by Amb Emenike Egbusunwa, Special Assistant on Media & Publicity to Hon Joshua Chinedu Obika over the weekend.
The endorsement was led by the National President of GMGI, Hon. Ubasinachi, who is also the former APGA candidate for the AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency in the 2023 general elections. The event brought together legacy APGA members, immediate past councillorship candidates from the recent Area Council elections, and key party stakeholders from wards across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
During the well-attended gathering, GMGI officially conferred upon Hon. Obika the title of National Grand Patron of GMGI and presented him with an Award of Excellence in recognition of his legislative contributions and commitment to grassroots development.
In his remarks, Hon. Dr. Ubasinachi reaffirmed the group’s unwavering commitment to Hon. Obika’s re-election, pledging to mobilize, canvass, and campaign vigorously across all wards in the AMAC/Bwari constituency. He described Hon. Obika as a dedicated representative whose performance warrants a return to the Green Chamber for a second term.
“We have structures in every ward across AMAC/Bwari and the FCT at large. We are fully mobilized to ensure the success of Hon. Obika’s re-election bid,” Dr. Ubasinachi stated.
In a significant political realignment, Hon. Dr. Ubasinachi also announced his formal move to the All Progressives Congress (APC) alongside Hon. Obika. He confirmed that all GMGI structures have been collapsed into the APC to support the representative’s re-election and strengthen the ruling party in the FCT.
The group further pledged its steadfast support for the developmental agenda of the FCT Minister, His Excellency, Barr. Nyesom Wike, acknowledging his transformative leadership in the Territory.
Looking ahead to 2027, GMGI vowed to mobilize grassroots support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, emphasizing the progressive unity driving the party’s forward-moving agenda.
“We are progressives working together for the continued development of our nation and the FCT. We stand firmly with Mr. President and our leaders at all levels,” Dr. Ubasinachi concluded.
The event marked a major boost for Hon. Obika’s re-election campaign and underscored the growing political alignment within the FCT chapter of the APC.
