….”Without labor nothing prospers.” – Sophocles

On this International Workers Day, the lawmaker representing Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore, and Ejigbo federal constituency of Osun State, Rep. Bamidele Salam has extended heartfelt appreciation to Nigerian workers, acknowledging their resilience and dedication amid evolving challenges.

The Lawmaker made the commendation in a statement signed by his media Aide, Joshua Afolabi to celebrate the perseverance of Nigerian workers during this global economic challenge.

Speaking on the 2024 Workers’ Day theme that focused on ensuring safety and health at work in a changing climate, Salam said as the climate changes, ensuring safety and health at work becomes increasingly critical.

Rep. Salam who’s also the Chairman of the House of Representatives Public Accounts Committee, recognised the need for Nigerian workers to adapt to changing environmental conditions while maintaining their well-being.

“From extreme weather events to shifts in agricultural patterns, workers across various sectors must navigate new challenges to ensure their safety and health.

Let’s adopt a holistic approach to safeguarding Nigerian workers in the face of a changing climate.

This approach involves implementing measures to mitigate risks, providing training on climate-resilient practices, and ensuring access to necessary resources and support systems.

As Nigeria celebrates International Workers Day, let us not only honour the contributions of workers but also commit to ensuring their safety and health in a changing climate.

I stand firm in my dedication to championing this cause and advocating for policies that prioritize the well-being of Nigerian workers” He explained.
