Concerned Benue PDP stakeholders passes vote of no confidence in party’s Publicity Secretary Bemgba Iortyom

By Elijah Fave Iorbee

Concerned Benue PDP Stakeholders today 20th May, 2024 have called on Nigerians to be wary of vultures within the ranks of the party in Benue State.

Addressing a World Press Conference in Makurdi at the Conference Hall of Hallydays Hotel on the state of affairs of the party in relation to the bigger picture in 2027, the stakeholders vehemently refuted the recent despicable and indignatious outing of the supposed Publicity Secretary of the PDP in Benue state Mr. Bemgba Iortyom on Television Continental (TVC} where he claimed that the leadership of the PDP in Benue State may lead the party to support President Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 Presidential election for fairness, equity and balance of political equation.

The Concerned Benue PDP Stakeholders clarified that at no material time did the party mandate Mr. Iortyom to choose a Presidential Candidate for it pointing out that his position is entirely his, since he has the freedom to hold and dispense his freedom of speech and press as an adult and a citizen of Nigeria.
The Stakeholders further stated that as party men and women, the party remain supreme and shall support all her candidates including the Presidential Candidate that will be chosen at the 2027 Presidential election from whichever part of Nigeria he or she may come from.

In a Press Statement read by Prof. Nicholas Ada, the Concerned Benue PDP Stakeholders challenged the State Working Committee of the party as a matter of urgency come up with its position disowning Mr. Iortyom’s spurious claims concerning the 2027 presidential election and to also set up a disciplinary committee to investigate and consequently punish Mr. Iortyom for such unfortunate and indicting claims to serve as deterrent to other members engaged in anti-party activities.

The stakeholders also posited that beginning from the forth-coming party congresses, only credible and committed party men and women should be elected into party leadership at all levels in order to avoid putting black sheep into the ring.

While passing a VOTE OF NO CONFIDENCE in Bemgba Iortyom over his unrepentant track record of anti-party activities, the stakeholders noted that what the PDP need at this material time is total overhaul and rebuilding instead of baseless argument over who flies the party’s Presidential Ticket in an election that is far three years away.
