…Rolls Out Projects For E4 Constituency
Representative Bamidele Salam, on Saturday, assured leaders of the PDP and other members of his constituency of his commitment to their wellbeing, which has been paramount to him as representative of the people.
Rep Salam made the pledge at a retreat he organised in Abuja for his members of staff, which also had in attendance, chairmen and leaders of the PDP in the federal constituency.
The retreat which centered on concept of interconnectivity of all stakeholders for an effective and people oriented representation by a lawmaker in the Nigerian political landscape, was also used to review the lawmakers activities in the past one year as well as strengthening robust feedbacks mechanism.
A legislative expert, Ambassador Chibuzo Okereke, took participants through rudiments of work ethics by members of staff of a legislator, proper filling, and documentation. It was indeed a very rich seminar for the participants.
Rep Bamidele, who received accolades for his various intervention programmes since assuming office as a lawmaker, used the opportunity to roll out further interventions aimed at improving quality of life in the federal constituency.
Some of the developmental programmes at various strategic locations in the four local governments in the constituency include
Construction of civic center at Idoosun, in Egbedore local government, costing N100m, N550m budget in the fiscal year for continued rehabilitation of Awo-Iragberi-Aato- Inisa- Ejigbo road(work commenced already), Construction of Standard blocks of Classroom at Ogiyan High School, Ejigbo af N40m, Construction and equipping a skill acquisition center at Oke-Gada, Ede North Local Government at the cost of N200m.
Other intervention projects rolled out at the event are the multi-million naira Rural Electrification at Awere Musa, Ede South local government, N100m worth of solar powered boreholes across the four local governments, provision ICT center at Community school, Awo.
In other to boost power supply in the constituency, 500KVA transformer is also to be provided for Oke-Langbin Community in Ejigbo, 300KVA transformer at Ola, Ejigbo local government, 500KVA transformer at Kuse Community, Idoosun in Egbedore local government amongst other interventions in the power sector. These will be personally funded by Rep Bamidele Salam.
On solar powered Boreholes, the following communities are to benefit in the immediate interventions:, Oremeji Community, (Ejigbo), CDC Hall, Obada, (Ede South), Agbale Community, (Ede North) and Idoo Community in Egbedore local government.
Aside from the intervention projects, according to Rep Bamidele Salam, members of the constituency are also set to benefit from various empowerment programmes with a budget of N269m in the ongoing fiscal year. The empowerment programme ranges from, Agriculture, trade, startups for youths, financial assistance for transport sector in the four local governments amongst others.
Activities marking his first year in office in the current political cycle were also discussed and mapped in order of execution, involving commissioning of completed projects, inauguration of several others as well as townhall meetings.
The Lawmaker thereafter admonished participants at the retreat to see themselves as part of his activities at the national assembly and work with various communities to ensure quality and security of the outlined projects for the good of all.
The Public Account Committee chairman also appealed to members of his constituency in Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore and Ejigbo local governments not to relent on their support for the Governor of Osun State, His Excellency, Asiwaju Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke as father of all and members of his immediate constituency.
Prayers were offered for continued success in office of His Excellency, Rep Bamidele Salam as well as the rulling party in Osun State, the PDP.
