…Pledges Full Support to Governor Adeleke and Commends Council Staff, Residents
I, Hon. Okunade Adesanya, hereby announce my resignation as the Caretaker Chairman of Egbedore Local Government Area in Osun State. This decision follows the recent Supreme Court ruling on local government autonomy.
Reflecting on our tenure, I am proud to highlight several notable achievements over the past eleven months:
Renovation and furnishing of offices.
Acquisition of 2 acres of land for developmental purposes.
Distribution of seedlings and cash prizes to local farmers.
Repair of long-unused grader and tractors to enhance the local government’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).
Provision of palliatives to victims of the Ifon/Ilobu crisis.
Extension of electricity to Baptist Grammar School Ara and electrification of its laboratory.
Sponsorship of JAMB CBT training for prospective candidates from Egbedore Local Government
Renovation of maternity centers in Iwoye and Ikotun, and Provision of boreholes across all the wards.
Complete renovation of Baptist Day School classroom.
Flagged off the construction of a 1.5-kilometer road in the Estate area of Egbedore.
Extension of pipe-borne water into various offices in the main building of the Local Government Secretariat.
Much Effort were put in place on strengthening local security to protect the lives and property of our residents. I also made myself accessible during my time in office, which allowed me to address issues of significant concern to our community.
I express my heartfelt gratitude to His Excellency Governor Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke for the opportunity to serve and pledge my unalloyed support for the Governors administration.
I also commend the council staff for their dedication and hard work and thank the residents of Egbedore Local Government for their steadfast support and prayers during my tenure.
In the same vein, the fundamental roles played by our traditional leaders can’t be overemphasized as they all stood by us throughout our time in office.
I specially acknowledge and appreciate the cabinet members for their steadfastness and cooperation in my bid to develop Egbedore in all ramifications.
My profound appreciation goes to the political leaders within the local government who have played significant roles by helping and supporting the outgoing administration with their wealth of experience in moving our dear Local Government forward during our short stay in office.
This includes our amiable Federal Honourable, Hon. Bamidele Salam, Mama Atinuke Oyawoye, Chief Kolade Adeleke, Hon. Akin Ajetunmobi, Alhaji Olakunle Ojo, Alhaji Jogunade Olanipekun, Hon. Rotimi Ogunrinade, Alhaji Amidu Olagoke, Hon. Mrs. Wumi Otunla, Hon Okun Obiremi , PDP party chairman in Egbedore Local Government, Alhaji Sulaiman Adebayo, among others and the Media Team
