In a move to boost digital connectivity and support local businesses, the Lawmaker representing Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore, and Ejigbo federal constituency of Osun State at National Assembly, Rep. Bamidele Salam has facilitated the provision of free broadband internet service to the Faridah Adeleke market and surrounding areas in Olorunsogo community, Egbedore local government.
This project, approved by the Federal Government as part of the National Digital Economy Policy and Strategy (NDEPS) 2020-2030, aims to deepen broadband penetration and support Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) across the country.
The initiative will provide free internet access to traders, artisans, transporters, and others in the market, as well as residents and businesses within a 500-meter to 1-kilometer radius.
The project was in conjunction with the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) headed by Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Aminu Maida.
Aminu said the project is for the Provision of Broadband infrastructure for micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (Market Places) Across the Country- Faridah Adeleke Market, Olorunsogo Community has been selected as a beneficiary.
He said the project is being implemented by Bravura Technologies Limited, with Omni Data Global Services Limited serving as an independent Technical Auditor to ensure its successful delivery.
This development is a significant milestone in Rep. Salam’s efforts to promote digital inclusion and economic growth in his Constituency.
