Over 30 people were killed after a tanker exploded along Baddegi-Agaie Road in Dendo community, Agaie LGA of Niger state.
The accident occurred at about 12:30 am on Sunday.
In a statement, the Director-General of Niger State Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA),Abdullahi Baba-Arab said the tanker was involved in a head-on collision with a truck loaded with cattle.
The incident was said to have occurred after a Petroleum Tanker caught fire and hit other vehicles.
three heavy duty vehicles and one Pick-up Van involved in the accident all got burnt.
People and animals were also burnt beyond recognition.
One of the Survivors, who is still in shock said they took off from Kano State.
A mass burial was organized for the victims by Katcha Local Government council with officials of the State Emergency Management Agency and other security outfits in attendance.
The Council chairman, represented by his Vice, Mohammed Zakari Essa and the Member Representing Katcha constituency, Abdulmalik Bala ibrahim described the incident as unfortunate.
