The Chairman, Northern Senators Forum Senator Abdulazeez Musa Yar’adua and in deed, the entire senators have denied an attempt to impeach Senate President Godswill Obot Akpabio.
An online newspaper, akelicious.net has today (Wednesday) allegedly published that, in order to show that the North are no more in support of government of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, the Northern Senators are planning to impeach Senate President Godswill Obot Akpabio.
Addressing members of the Senate Press Corps (SPC), shortly after plenary, Senator Abdulazeez Musa Yar’adua said that there was nothing like that, even as he said that they are solidly behind the Akpabio – led Senate.
Treating the publication with a wave of hand and a mere allegation, Senator Yar’Adua however maintained that the senate is very strong and also using its legislative machinery to move the country forward, even as he advised people to go about performing their duties in a way of moving the country forward.
Earlier, the Chairman, Senate Committee on Media and Publicity, Senator Yemi Adaramodu said described the alleged publication as false and unfounded. He also informed that the 10th Senate is intact and working toward moving the country to the expected level.
Hailing the SPC members for performance, Adaramodu however advised them to continue to strictly, adhere to the ethics of journalism profession, which if done, according to him will go along way for the and the country in general. He however spoke at length on the unity of purpose among members of Nigeria’s 10th Senate.
Responding to a question put for him on what the Senate is doing to address the country’s decaying economy, the Senate Committee Chairman responded that the senate is leaving now stone unturned to address the economic quargmire in the country.
