The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, commissioned the 5km Gaba-Tokulo road in Bwari Area Council on Friday, January 24, 2025.

This milestone marks another significant step in the administration’s commitment to infrastructural development across the territory, according to a press statement from Director Press, Office of the Minister, Anthony Ogunleye over the weekend.

During the ceremony, Minister Wike emphasized the FCT Administration’s dedication to fulfilling its promise of constructing one road in each of the six Area Councils, as directed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2024.

He highlighted the ongoing road project commissioning activities, demonstrating the government’s commitment to positively impacting every part of the FCT.

Minister Wike also detailed the substantial investments made by the FCT Administration in Bwari Area Council, which include the construction of rural roads to enhance connectivity, reduce insecurity challenges, and open opportunities for trade and commerce in rural communities.

The Minister held a one-minute silence for Useni, a gesture that underscores the administration’s commitment to honoring the memories of those who have contributed to the development of the FCT.

The commissioning of the Gaba-Tokulo road is part of the FCT Administration’s efforts to address the infrastructural deficit in the rural parts of the FCT.

The road is expected to improve connectivity, reduce the challenge of insecurity, and open opportunities for trade and commerce in the rural communities.

In a related development, Minister Wike had earlier flagged off the construction of the Gaba-Tokulo road in February 2024, as part of the 30-kilometer road project directed by President Tinubu.

The Minister had also assured that the FCT Administration would construct two additional rural roads in Bwari Area Council before the end of 2024.
