Sarina replaces Ata as Kano PCC Commissioner

By Ekunkonye Junior, Abuja

Alhaji Ibrahim Zakari Sarina, Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State, has been appointed as the new Commissioner of the Public Complaints Commission (PCC), representing Kano State.

This appointment follows the departure of Hon Yusuf Abdullahi Ata, who served as commissioner from July to October 2024 before being appointed as Minister of Housing and Urban Development by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Sarina’s appointment was announced by President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio, during today’s plenary session.

As a grassroots politician, Sarina brings a wealth of experience and a vast political network that spans Kano State and beyond to his new role.

The Public Complaints Commission is tasked with addressing administrative injustices and providing a platform for citizens to lodge complaints against government agencies and public officials.

With Sarina at the helm, the commission is expected to continue its work in promoting transparency and accountability in governance.

Ata’s departure from the PCC was a result of his appointment as Minister of Housing and Urban Development, a position he assumed in October 2024.

His tenure as commissioner, though brief, laid the groundwork for Sarina to build upon.
