The traditional ruler of Ogbunka, an ancient community in Orumba South, Anambra State, Igwe Johnmark Anyaoha, has firmly stated that no son or daughter of Ogbunka will unjustly lose their life in another man’s land. Reiterating his commitment to justice and his people’s protection the royal father therefore promised to foster youth empowerment in his domain, to prevent crimes and criminalities, saying that Ogbunka indigenes are known for peace and total adherence to the law.

This latest development was contained in a press statement made available to the media recently by Nka 1 Media.

As the Traditional Ruler of Ogbunka, His Royal Highness has pledged to lead with peace, truth, and harmony, ensuring that Ogbunka remains a community built on unity and moral integrity. In light of this, he has issued a strong warning to the youth and others who are criminal – minded to stay away from all sorts of crimes and criminalities, while strongly maintaining to engage in youth employment.

He emphasized that such acts would bring shame not only to individuals but to the entire Ogbunka community, and those involved would be disassociated from the values the town upholds. Furthermore, Igwe Anyaoha urged the indigenes to align themselves with the developmental vision of Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, particularly through the “One Youth, Two Skills” initiative.

While urging the youth to take full advantage of the program and other empowerment opportunities spearheaded by the Orumba South executive chairman, he stressed that engagement in productive work is key to communal growth. Appealing to the younger generation to be law abiding, the Igwe cautioned against idleness, especially during productive hours, even as he condemned fraudulent activities such as internet fraud.

He emphasized that fraud is not a legitimate trade and urged youths to acquire meaningful skills that will ensure a sustainable future. His Royal Highness reaffirmed his vision of a prosperous Ogbunka where hard work, honesty, and skill development are the pillars of success.

He called on all stakeholders: community leaders, parents, and elders to support initiatives that will empower the youth and keep them on the right path, saying: “Ogbunka stands for dignity, progress, and integrity and it is the duty of every individual to uphold the values.”
