The City Boy Movement has emerged as a dynamic force in Nigeria’s political landscape, dedicated to promoting and amplifying the successes of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
This national initiative which has a grassroots appeal seeks to bridge the gap between federal policies and local communities, ensuring that the President’s vision resonates across the nation. It equally promotes the ideals, track-records and democratic credentials of a thorough democrat-His Excellency Ahmed Bola Tinubu.
In Benue State, the movement has found steadfast allies in Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia, and his Commissioner for Works, Housing, and Urban Development, Hon.Tiza Imojime. Their proactive leadership and unwavering support have solidified the Movement’s presence in the state, exemplifying the collaborative spirit essential for national progress. Now properly positioned to support President Tinubu’s administration, the City Boy Movement operates on principles of unity, grassroots mobilization, and active civic engagement.
By organizing events, summits, and community outreach programs, the movement strives to ensure that governmental policies are both inclusive and effective. A notable example is the upcoming City Boy Movement Youth Summit, in the North Central Zone of Nigeria, to be hosted by the Governor, which aims to empower young Nigerians, and foster leadership, innovation, and active participation in governance, as well as build a dedicated network of vibrant supporters.
Meanwhile, in Benue state, the Governor’s administration, has been instrumental in aligning state policies with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda – taking into cognizance, the challenges faced by low-income earners, which Governor Alia has lauded the President’s initiatives, aimed at improving livelihoods and addressing housing deficits. He has emphasized that the construction of estates across states is a strategic move to provide affordable housing solutions, thereby uplifting economically disadvantaged communities. This is a sure way of building large reservoir trust and commitment to an agenda whose time has come.
In the cockpit, a young pragmatic leader, the Commissioner for Works, Housing, and Urban Development, Hon. Tiza Imojime, has pioneered efforts to lead the movement to its sure destination, using strategic focus, for both practical and conventional tactics to determine his direction of movement.
He is building on the legacy of selflessness, fairness, justice, equity and fairplay, which Governor Alia has injected into his administration, and in all dealings with mankind. This has gone down well with the civil servants, political appointees, and the general public.
Appointed at 33 years as the Commissioner in the aforementioned capacity, Hon. Imojime’s ascent reflects a strategic move towards inclusive governance, recognition of excellent service delivery, and the infusion of youthful energy into public service. His dedication to service of the fatherland and development has not gone unnoticed. This is even as his traces, and routes, has earned him a global recognition of by Stay African Youth Development Initiative (SAYDI), a Pan African Youth-led organization, who conferred on him, the “Nelson Mandela Pan-African Leadership Prize”, on Friday, February 14, 2025, at his office, as a recognition of his leadership acumen and social re-engineering.
It must be noted that, the Nelson Mandela Excellent Prize, honors individuals who exemplify visionary leadership, integrity, and a commitment to societal development. It recognizes contributions in governance, humanitarianism, and nation-building, reflecting Mandela’s legacy of selfless service, justice, and empowerment. Recipients demonstrate outstanding impact in promoting peace, progress, and transformational change within their communities.
Through his visionary leadership, Hon. Tiza, is inspiring a new generation of leaders. His approach underscores the importance of youth involvement in governance and the transformative potential it holds for societal progress. And that is exactly the backbone of the game changing movement.
The synergistic efforts of Governor Alia and his groomed Commissioner, have been instrumental in entrenching the City Boy Movement’s ideals in Benue State. Their proactive governance, characterized by prompt responses to infrastructural challenges, and unwavering support for federal initiatives, has fostered a sense of trust and collaboration between the state and the federal government.
Meanwhile, during a courtesy visit on the Governor at Government House, Makurdi, over the weekend, Governor Alia, reiterated his commitment and strong appreciation to those who are operationalizing the movement including the Director General, Hon. Francis Tosin Shoga; the Commissioner for Works, Housing, and Urban Development, Tiza Imojime; Mrs. Abiodun Essiet, SSA to the President on Community Engagement; among others.
He announced that the CBM has demonstrated exceptional resolve in promoting the ideals of good governance and the continuity of leadership just as he applauded their initiative in raising awareness about the importance of bold policies that drive growth.
“As we look forward to hosting the North Central Summit here in Makurdi, I am confident that our people; who have experienced the positive impact of good governance will rally behind this movement with enthusiasm.
“I am deeply inspired by the vision and leadership of the Grand Patron of the City Boy Movement, Chief Seyi Tinubu, whose dynamic and visionary leadership continues to motivate young people”, he said.
Moreover, their dedication to the welfare of the populace resonates with the movement’s core objectives. The City Boy Movement in Benue state under the Midas touch of Hon. Imojime Tiza, exemplifies the collaborative framework necessary for Nigeria’s advancement.
