The Mbadede carnival which has been in existence for four years is reputed for introducing innovative ideas and a wider scope.
As part of the programmes lined up for this year’s edition, all the secondary schools in Mbadede have been invited to participate in a quiz competition that will be taking place on 11th December 2023 at St. Winifred Girls Secondary School, Ihugh.
According to the head of the organising secretariat, Mr. Fidelis Ahangba Angweh, fifteen (15) schools have already indicated interest to participate and we are hoping to host all of them in line with our agreed terms and conditions.
News Headquarters understands that the aim is to expose the students, test their knowledge on different subjects, world affairs across disciplines/ human fields of endeavour.
“The quiz is also an avenue for teachers of different schools to interact, identify both students and teachers who are super good in their areas of specialization, this include chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, English, Biology, Government, Agriculture, Engineering amongst others.
“The quiz is an activity that will not just create fun among the students and teachers of different schools but also a tool that will test the knowledge retention capacity of students, the teachers themselves can also learn from the exercise.
“Apart from the above, the competition and testing can encourage students to learn more,it will help better organize their knowledge, it will also determine knowledge gaps, if this exercise becomes regular, it will boost meta-cognitive monitoring abilities of students, this exercise will also expose them to new concepts etc.”, Mr. Ahangba states in a post on his Facebook timeline.

Apart from knowledge acquisition, it will enhance and encourage the building of multidimensional bridges across schools, these bridges when built and better nurtured will lay ground for effective knowledge and skills transfers and cross-fertilization of ideas that may in turn, bring about development in our community, state and indeed the country at a large.
This is the first quiz competition to be organized in our community, and the general public is invited to attend. Those who cannot attend for various reasons can follow MBADEDE CARNIVAL FACEBOOK PAGE as the event will streamed(Live broadcast).
