Princess Chinwe Nnabuife, the member representing Orumba North/South at the National Assembly has charged her constituents to strictly adhere to peace and love during and after this year’s marking of Palm Sunday.
This message, she gave in a press statement she signed and made available to journalists at the Palm Sunday.
She said: “As Christians around the world celebrate Palm Sunday today, it’s a poignant reminder of the importance of nurturing our relationship with Jesus. This significant day symbolizes love, peace, progress, and hospitality – core values that defined Jesus’ ministry.
The imagery of the cross, palm fronds, and open arms serves as a powerful reminder of our commitment to these values. As we reflect on the true meaning of Palm Sunday, let us strive to embody the principles of justice, compassion, and love that Jesus advocated for.”
She continued: In a world where many struggle with poverty and deprivation, we are called to seek justice and show kindness to those in need. This is particularly relevant for our communities, including those in Orumba North and South, who may be facing hardships.
As we welcome Jesus into our lives, let us also strive to create a more just and equitable society. By doing so, we can work towards a world where everyone has access to prosperity and a good life.”
The Adaejiejemba therefore prayed this: “May the spirit of Palm Sunday inspire us to be agents of positive change, promoting love, peace, and justice for all.”
