President of the African Development Bank, Dr Akinwumi Adesina, has paid a courtesy visit to former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari at his residence.
In a message shared on his official X account on Thursday, Dr Adesina expressed heartfelt gratitude to Buhari for his unwavering support over the years — particularly during key moments in his leadership journey at the AfDB.
“I visited President Buhari to express my deep appreciation for his incredibly supporting my nomination by President Jonathan for election as President, African Development Bank. He strongly stood by me in difficult times, which ensured my re-election. Thank you Sir,” he wrote.
Dr Adesina, who was first elected AfDB President in 2015 and re-elected in 2020, remains one of the most prominent Nigerian figures in global economic and development policy circles.
