When we started the #NotTooYoungToRun movement, and stood for elections, it wasn’t because we thought power would be handed to us, it was to set the example that young people can aspire and dream.
Even if we didn’t achieve the office, we planted the seed and marked the path that the next generation can follow.
But look around today…
The coalitions forming are still recycling the same old people, men in their 60s, 70s and 80’s who started in their 20s and 30s, and have refused to let go ever since.
They keep jumping from one election to another, shifting narratives, dismantling zoning arrangements when it no longer benefits them, and using every trick in the book to stay politically relevant.
The TRUTH is simple, No one is going to donate leadership or political tickets to you, unless it’s an appointment given to their “good boys.”
It is a moral imbalance for one man, in a country of millions, to keep presenting himself election after election, while others never get the chance.
But here’s the catch, They won’t stop unless YOU step forward.
A TECH LESSON: BILL GATES & THE STORAGE PARADIGM
Believe it or not, even Bill Gates, a tech giant reportedly criticized the idea of Gmail offering massive storage when it launched.
Why? Because his mindset was shaped in a different era, where storage was a limited, costly commodity. We are already in that era where data is new oil but our old politicians sre still fixated on oil wells with no investments in the new oil.
Even with all his brilliance, he struggled with a new paradigm where abundance replaced scarcity.
That’s the lesson, past success can make you blind to present innovation.
And this is the problem with our current leadership, they are stuck in outdated models, trying to solve 21st-century problems with 20th-century tools.
Our leaders are still sending soldiers and police officers to die daily, facing terrorists in wars that could be won with drones, simply because they are unfamiliar with new possibilities. These men and women die without honor or recognition from the very people we call leaders.
We have died enough, gone hungry enough, and been denied innovation and progress long enough to justify our collective anger. It’s time to rise up, now.
WE NEED A LEADERSHIP UPGRADE
Our leaders were trained for a different Nigeria, a Nigeria without digital disruption, a Nigeria without global data wars, AI economies, fintech, or cyber security.
A Nigeria without climate crises or borderless opportunity, a Nigeria with #nolimits- just possibilities. A Nigeria where our talents and skilled workforce scattered around the world would see a part in and come back home.
They cannot lead what they don’t understand and still, if by the next election we do not see serious presidential and gubernatorial contenders aged 25–50, then we, the younger generation, must ask ourselves:
❓ Why do we think we don’t fit in?
❓ Why are we so afraid to lead?
❓ What are we waiting for, another recycled savior?
WHY NOT VDM?
Let’s talk truth. Why can’t VeryDarkMan (VDM) be the face of this generation?
He has shown:
✔️ More courage
✔️ More compassion
✔️ More conviction than many of those we keep voting for.
He has consistently spoken truth to power, not for clout, but for conscience.
He has connected deeply with the people, exposed injustice, and remained fearless.
If we say we want change, then why not start with someone who embodies it?
Bold. Unafraid. Unfiltered.
He speaks for the unheard, questions the untouchables, and ignites the fire of accountability.
This is more than a face, it’s a symbol.
A signal that the next generation will no longer be silent. He represents the #SoroSoke era. So yes to Verydarkblackman. He msy not even see this potential.
Leadership is no longer about seniority or loyalty to party leaders.
It’s about capacity, clarity, and courage.
If Bill Gates could be stuck in an old model of thinking,
then how much more our current politicians,
many of whom are still trying to lead with analogue mindsets in a digital world?
We need:
– Bold minds
– Innovative hearts
– Disruptive courage
– And 21st-century solutions to 21st-century problems.
The problems of this century will NOT be solved by the minds of the last one.
So if we don’t rise, we’ll keep being ruled by people whose best days are behind them, yet they continue to dictate the future they may never even live in.
Let this post be a wake-up call.
Let this be the beginning of something NEW.
This post is not about VDM as a person, but a symbol of the new generation, it’s about you, take this chance, it’s yours.
Let us inspire and share hope not recycle failure.
