The Nigerian Tourism Development Authority (NTDA) has pledged to strengthen its collaboration with the Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria (FTAN) to drive the newly introduced Tourism Transformation Mandate.
This commitment was made during a courtesy visit by the new FTAN executive council to the NTDA headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday.
NTDA and FTAN aim to work together to promote tourism development in Nigeria and the agency has consistently supported FTAN, and it appreciated the Federation’s contributions during the passage of the NTDA Act.
However, the mandate aims to reposition the private sector for growth and innovation in the tourism industry, just as it emphasized the importance of PPPs in funding tourism projects.
As NTDA stressed the need for strict adherence to legally defined operational mandates to ensure sustainable growth in the tourism ecosystem, FTAN therefore appealed to NTDA’s Tourism Projects and Investment Department to work closely with the Federation in mobilizing tourism investment.
The visit however, marked a significant step in strengthening the partnership between NTDA and FTAN, with the exchange of souvenirs and the decoration of the FTAN President as a Tourism Ambassador of Nigeria.
