The Benue State House of Assembly today successfully screened and confirmed Honourable Denis Ter Iyaghigba as a commissioner in the state’s Executive Council.
The decision was announced by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Hyacinth Dajoh, following a thorough screening process.
During the hearing, held in the assembly chamber, Honourable Iyaghigba skillfully addressed a series of questions from lawmakers.
The nominee spoke on his early life, academic background, and his strategic vision for building a strong working relationship with the legislative arm of government.
Leveraging his extensive experience, Iyaghigba articulated the benefits his expertise in the marine, blue economy, and oil and gas sectors have brought and will still bring to the state’s development.
His convincing presentation and a strong track record of service ultimately secured his confirmation.
In a related development, Speaker Dajoh announced that the nominations of Dr. Iyangien from Kwande and Mr. Dwem from Makurdi local government areas were not approved.
The Speaker has formally requested that His Excellency Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia forward new nominees from the two respective local governments for screening.
