The Federal Capital  Territory Education Resource Centre (ERC) has launched a five-day intensive training program to equip secondary school teachers with the skills and knowledge needed to promote entrepreneurship education in Federal Capital Territory (FCT) schools.

The program, which aligns with the new curriculum released by the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC), aims to foster an entrepreneurship mindset among learners and promote innovation, creativity, and self-reliance.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, FCT Education Secretary, Dr. Danlami Hayyo, emphasized the importance of entrepreneurship education in shaping the future of the nation’s youth. He urged participants to explore technological tools and digital platforms that can enhance entrepreneurial learning.

The training program features practical exercises, real-world case studies, group collaboration, and interactive activities designed to equip teachers with the competencies needed to nurture innovative, self-reliant, and future-ready learners.

The initiative is a collaboration between the FCT ERC, UNESCO, and CEBAR, and is part of efforts to strengthen teachers’ capacity in delivering inclusive and innovative entrepreneurship education.

One hundred participants from different secondary schools in the FCT are attending the training, which will culminate in the presentation of certificates.
