Anambra indigenes in FCT greet former PSC Chair at 90

Indigenes of Anambra State in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), under the umbrella of Anambra State Towns People Association (ASTPA), have congratulated Dr. Simon Okeke (Ochendo Ndigbo), former Chairman, the Police Service Commission (PSC), and a member of the Association’s Board of Trustees (BoT) on his 90th birthday.

This was contained in a press statement from the Association’s President General (PG), Sir Arinze Anadu ((Nwachinemelu), over the weekend.

Chief Okeke has on 7th January, 2026 celebrated his 90th birthday in his Amichi country home, Anambra State, an event that attracted who is who in the state and Nigeria in general.

Expressing gratitude to God for granting Okeke good health and wisdom, by having enabled him to serve humanity, he said that he recognized Okeke’s immense contributions to the development of his people and the country, and prayed for more life and blessings for the revered leader.

Anadu urged Okeke to continue rendering help in different capacities to humanity, emphasizing the importance of his legacy.

He advised young people to learn from Okeke’s exemplary life, citing his wisdom, resilience, and commitment to community service as qualities worth emulating.

The Nwachinemelu announced plans for a special celebration when Okeke attains 100 years, saying it was imperative for the younger generation to tap into his knowledge and wisdom. He stressed the need for young men and women to come closer to Okeke, learn from his experiences, and benefit from his insights.

Okeke’s leadership and contributions to national development have earned him widespread respect and admiration. As the Ochendo Ndigbo, a title signifying protection and shelter for all, he has been a guiding light for the Igbo community.
