Eight out of the kidnapped students of the Federal University of Lafia in Nasarawa State have been released.
According to a community leader in the Keana Local Area of the state, Spencer Jerry, the students arrived in Kwarra village at about eight o’clock last night.
Mr Jerry stated that the students, who were looking pale and exhausted, had been taken to Lafia by anti-kidnapping operatives of the Nigerian Police after eating some bread offered to them by the community.
Also confirming the release of the students, the village head of Gandu Community opposite the Federal University of Lafia, Mallam Hassan Kassimu, said they had been moved to the school medical centre.
Last week, students of the Federal University of Lafia in Nasarawa State protested the spate of kidnappings around the institution.
